Oatmeal is nutritionally the best breakfast cereal

Oatmeal is not quite raw. Oat grain has been subjected to a steaming before being rolled and roasted, so the starch has to a certain extent puffed up and thereby made accessible to the small intestinal enzymes. In addition, oatmeal, 100% whole grain, so if you eat a large portion of oatmeal 75 grams, you have eaten the amount of whole grains daily is recommended.

How does dietary fiber?
We distinguish roughly between two types of fiber – soluble and insoluble. The soluble fiber reduces gastric emptying rate, thus becoming digestion and absorption processes better. A great part of the soluble fibers are converted by the microorganisms in the large intestine to short chain fatty acids, thereby contributing energy to the body.

The insoluble fibers degrade does not and does not contribute energy. Because the dietary fiber contributes to varying degrees to the energy intake, it is estimated that the dietary fiber contributes 8 kJ per. gram. The insoluble fiber acts primarily as undigested filler which is to influence the intestinal movements, so that the stomach is kept going.

Why is fiber important?
Dietary fiber prevents constipation, diarrheal, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammation of the bulges of the colon, and possibly colon cancer. Fiber works lowering of blood cholesterol and triglycerides. Fiber keeps you fuller longer and keeps stomach started. It is not yet clear whether the beneficial effects due to dietary fiber alone or fibrous foods as such. Therefore, recommend DVFA that eating both whole grain products, fruits and vegetables, all of which contain dietary fiber.

Why are whole grains important?
Most types of whole grains contain lots of fibers, vitamins and minerals. There is a tendency that whole grains do not eat for a long time and keep the stomach in the process. Whole grains are acknowledged for their health-promoting ability associated with cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and some forms of cancer

Beekeepers often have soft hands during the summer season, and the honey has also an emollient effect. Wash your face with hot water so that the pores open, honey rub into the skin and wash it out. Finish with cold water. It causes the skin to expel the dead skin cells.

Honey can also help you if you suffer from sneezing and red eyes in the summer months. Simply grab some locally produced, unpasteurized honey and eat a spoonful at every meal. The method uses John Heinermann, an expert in medical anthropology and author of the book “Heinerman’s Encyclopedia of Healing Herbs and Spices”. He suffers also from severe hay fever.

– Although honey has never cured my hay fever completely, I can attest that my problems with watery eyes and runny nose are reduced by at least 80 per cent, says John Heinermann.
